Needle shy and find the average facial relaxing but unrewarding? Now experts have devised new treatments that deliver everything from futuristic stem cell ingredients to Nasa technology to get your skin right for spring. Pain-free but effective pampering is arriving in London with new sci-fi skin savers.

THE STEM CELL SUPER-BOOST
QMS Medicosmetics founder Dr Erich Schulte extracts plant stem cells and uses them to boost the rate at which our skin regenerates.
How it works: After the cleanse, tone and fruit acid exfoliation come the skincare secret weapons: a Cellular Marine Line Eraser containing sea fennel stem cells, and an Alpine rose stem cell eye cream. "The plant stem cells are similar in composition to those of the skin," explains skin technician Sandra Meyer. "This allows them to penetrate to the basal membrane deep within the epidermis where they stimulate our own stem cells to divide and multiply." Even after one treatment you'll see brightening and plumping. Have them regularly and you'll start to see fine lines and uneven pigmentation fade. Pop in during your lunch break or after work for a pick-me-up that doesn't eat into your day.

THE SPACE-AGE SKIN LIFT
Nasa technology has touched down in the city. A machine called the Medilux incorporates ideas discovered by space experts to give the skin a lift in under 30 minutes.
How it works: Red and yellow frequencies are readily absorbed by the skin. The Medilux delivers these waves, which penetrate to the deep layer of skin and stimulate fibroblasts (the connective tissues) to remodel and strengthen our own collagen stores. Next, a cold wave laser repairs damaged capillaries to improve circulation near the upper surface and combat dullness. "As we age, the membranes between the skin's layers flatten. The rainbow of frequencies helps restore their natural scalloped shape to make skin look plumper and more toned," says EF Medispa founder Esther Fieldgrass. Unlike aggressive lasers, this is also pain-free and fast - so you can get on with your day with no downtime.

THE MAGNETIC MAKEOVER
Neville salon is the first to bring The Venus Concept - a skin-tightening device from Israel - to London. Magnetic pulses are used to warm the skin and "melt away" lines.
How it works: Three probes are applied to the skin to deliver a magnetic pulse and radio waves to the deep layer of skin, creating a not unpleasant warm sensation on the surface. "The magnetic pulse stimulates the production of a growth hormone responsible for new cell production," says therapist Amanda Roberts. "At the same time, the radio waves causes minor damage to the deep layer of skin to trigger cells into repairing and regenerating." If a saggy jawline and crêpy neck are your problem, this will tighten and tone without the need for a scalpel.

THE MARMA GLOW-GIVER
If you're in need of a full body experience, this new Ila facial rebalances the body and skin by working on the face.
How it works: Facialist Holly Gumble uses the ancient Indian tradition of manipulating the 13 marma - or energy points - on the face to smooth furrowed brows and bring an instant dewiness to the skin. "These points correspond to organs in the body. By applying a pulsating pressure to them, I can release energy to allow it to flow more freely throughout the body - so you get a wave of relaxation from head to toe." Combine this with the organic rose oil in Glowing Radiance product and Holly's incredible massage techniques, and you'll leave looking and feeling like you've just slept for a week.
