Although many of us still think of Rihanna as the teenage singer who stormed onto the music scene with Pon de Replay in 2005. It has in fact been over a decade since the Barbadian first hit our airwaves.

It's also easy to forget just how much the 30-year-old has achieved throughout her time in the spotlight. From continuing to top the charts, to turning her hand to acting and, subsequently, fashion designing, (she's currently on her fourth Fenty x Puma collection).

More importantly, she continues to make a difference when it comes to inclusivity. In 2017, she launched Fenty Beauty, a make-up line that championed diversity, boasting a whopping 40 shades for all skin tones.

“As a black woman, I could not live with myself if I didn’t do that,” she recently told Vogue in their June issue.

Her goal to make the world a more inclusive place doesn't stop there, the entrepreneur extraordinaire is now launching an inclusive lingerie line on May 11, called Savage x Fenty.

By now, many of us know that Fenty is Rihanna's surname (her real name is, Robyn Rihanna Fenty), but we all remained pretty stumped by the 'Savage' part.

RiRi opened up about the name to Vogue, saying: “Savage is really about taking complete ownership of how you feel and the choices you make. Basically making sure everybody knows the ball is in your court.”

So, judging by the name, is the line going to be empowering? Absolutely.

RiRi goes on to explain: “As women, we’re looked at as the needy ones, the naggy ones, the ones who are going to be heartbroken in a relationship. Savage is just the reverse. And you know, guys don’t like getting the cards flipped on them—ever.”

Meanwhile, the singer also talked about body confidence. Being of A-list status it can't be easy for Rihanna, who is constantly scrutinised for her fluctuating weight.

“I’m not built like a Victoria’s Secret girl," she says, adding, "I still feel very beautiful and confident in my lingerie.”

So, we're guessing that by creating her lingerie line, she wants to help others do the same.

That said, RiRi does have a way of dealing with those days where you just feel like you ain't werkin' it. “You’ve just got to laugh at yourself, honestly," she says.

"I mean, I know when I’m having a fat day and when I’ve lost weight." Adding, "I accept all of the bodies."

Not only is RiRi changing the beauty and fashion industry one step at a time, but also continues to keep things real and, as always, very relatable.
