They are two of the biggest names in contemporary fashion and go up against each other for Model of the Year at next month's British Fashion Awards, but last night saw sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid put on a united front at the Glamour Women of the Year ceremony in New York.

Complimenting each other perfectly, Gigi wore gold while Bella opted for silver.

A sign of prospective ranking at the Fashion Awards next month? Perhaps not. But while there can be only one Model of the Year, last night both sisters triumphed.

Arriving fittingly in full glamour, Gigi plumped for a fully-embellished golden Zuhair Murad gown from the Lebanese designer's autumn/winter 2016 couture collection.

Featuring a high neck, shimmering beading and full statement sleeves that fell to the floor, the elder of the two wore her golden blonde hair in loose curls and pulled to one side.

An altogether more directional look, Bella opted for a Cristina Ottaviano beaded bustier trouser suit from the brand's spring/summer 2018 collection.

Pulling her hair pack in a tight top knot, the 21-year-old added glamour via a bold eyeliner flick and some heavy statement diamonds.

But while Gigi and Bella steered towards the more metallic end of the colour spectrum, Zendaya and Ashley Graham plumped for bolder hues.

Arriving in a candy pink satin jumpsuit with a giant bow on her hip, Zendaya had every ingredient necessary for a sartorial saccharine overdose. As this was Zendaya - any designer's dream muse - the look was one of the evening's best.

Keeping her long dark hair loose and natural, the actress added edge via a pointed black heel and silver choker necklace.

Also steering clear of a dress was Ashley Graham, who arrived in a scarlet trouser suit with flared sleeves and a plunging neckline.

Other stars impressing in the style stakes included Nicole Kidman, Anja Rubik, Halima Aden, Sara Sampaio and Serena Williams.
