Who doesn't love the nostalgia of Disney?

Whether it be watching one of the classic films on a lazy Sunday afternoon, or secretly snuggling up in a cosy jumper adorned with your favourite character after a long day at work.

The appeal of Disney isn't limited to children, something that, over the years, has translated onto the catwalks. Fashion designers have, more frequently, used a host of recognisable cartoon characters as inspiration for their latest collections and the latest Spring/Summer 2019 season is a prime example.

Now that Mickey Mouse jumper you usually only wear in the comfort of your own home? It's about to become a stylish sartorial statement in 2019.

The likes of Gucci, Coach, The Blonds and Nana Judy have given Disney clothing a grown-up makeover for next season, emblazoning t-shirts, hoodies, bags and even evening dresses with the likes of Dumbo, Bambi and 101 Dalmations.

Coach, who has a long standing success rate with its Disney collaborations, created yet another wearable cartoon-inspired collection. The graphic apparel, which looked equal parts cosy, cute and chic, is sure to be an Instagram hit. Plus, the elegant styling, which saw the oversized pieces layered over delicate mesh dresses, is all the inspiration you need for how to wear it the grown-up way.

Ever since Alessandro Michele took up the reins at Gucci, he's oft given Disney a nod in his eye-catching collections.

In Spring/Summer 2018 Snow White and Snoopy put in an appearance but for Spring/Summer 2019 the avant-garde designer has given Mickey Mouse his time in the spotlight.

Models walked down the catwalk holding an unmissable 3D Mickey Mouse bag.

Though it may look slightly impractical, the fashion set is already snapping it up. It took mere days for the bag to put in an appearance on the Paris Fashion Week street style scene.

Meanwhile, Disney fans were graced with the wardrobe of their dreams at Nana Judy and The Blonds during New York Fashion Week.

Both designers collaborated with Disney on their latest collections. The Blonds creating a dark and dramatic collection inspired by Disney villains such as Cruella de Vil and Ursula.

In contrast, Nana Judy went for a subtler and super stylish take on polka dots, creating numerous pieces in homage to 101 Dalmations, which came complete with a real life Dalmatian pup on the catwalk.

Even Burberry's new creative director Riccardo Tisci gave a nod to a famous Disney flick.

The British brand, which has just gone fur-free, put a high fashion spin on deer print. One shirt was emblazoned with the saying "why did they kill Bambi?", citing the lovable deer in the 1942 classic Bambi.

Next summer, get ready to get your Disney on.
