A model, actress and singer, 25-year-old Cara Delevingne has had a busy few years building her career.

Since making her modelling debut in Italian Vogue at the age of 10 - with no other than legendary fashion photographer Bruce Weber behind the camera - Delevingne is now regularly seen starring in global movies and released her first ever music video this year.

As she celebrates her birthday, we chart the impressive and varied career of the 25-year-old.

2003 - Where it all began

Cara had her first modelling job at the age of 10 for Italian Vogue. She was shot by photographer Bruce Weber and wore a Philip Treacy hat.

2009 - Dropping out

Cara dropped out of Bedales and signed with Storm modelling agency in order to make enough money to put herself through drama school.

2011 - Up-and-coming

Cara became the model of the moment when Burberry's Christopher Bailey hired her for the brand's SS11 campaign and enlisted her to walk his London Fashion Week runway.

2012 - Catwalk domination

Cara seemingly became the face of Burberry overnight, starring in the brand's now iconic campaign with Eddie Redmayne.

This year also saw Delevingne walk for the likes of Chanel, Donna Karan, Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Fendi, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Marchesa.

Cara walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November during Justin Bieber's performance, and won 'Model of the Year' at the British Fashion Awards.

Her acting career was also ignited this year, with a minor role in the film adaptation of Anna Karenina.

2013 - A year of Vogue

Cara landed her first British Vogue cover in March which was photographed by Mario Testino.

She also graced the cover of Vogue China and Vogue Portugal in June, Vogue Japan in September and Vogue Australia in October.

While still dominating the global catwalks Cara noticeably became more selective with the shows she appeared in, widely believed to be due to her expanding her acting career.

2014 - Stepping back

Very selective now about her appearances, Cara was entirely absent from New York Fashion Week in February and only appeared in a small few in London, Milan and Paris.

Cara lands the role of Melanie in British psychological thriller The Face of an Angel (below), before starring alongside Pharrell Williams in Reincarnation, a short film by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.

Delevingne won 'Model of the Year' at the British Fashion Awards for the second time and starred on the cover of Vogue in the UK (January and September), Brazil (February), US (September) and Japan (October).

2015 - Lead roles

Stepping away from the world of fashion, Cara's only runway walks this year were for Chanel and her only Vogue covers were for British Vogue (April) and US Vogue (July).

She landed the role of a mermaid in fantasy film Pan and a lead role in teen drama Paper Towns opposite Nat Wolff, before announcing her next starring role in highly-anticipated Suicide Squad.

Delevingne also starred in Taylor Swift's star-studded Bad Blood music video which broke Vevo's 24-hour viewing record, with 20.1 million views in its day of release.

She debuted her singing talent alongside Pharrell Williams during a performance at the Chanel show in New York.

Cara interviewed Kim Kardashian for Love magazine later in the year.

2016 - Candid admissions

Cara confirmed via Twitter that she never quit modelling and spoke out about her depression and need for a break, before starring on the cover of British Vogue's September issue.

She starred alongside Will Poulter in British drama Kids in Love and opposite Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad.

The promo tour for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets then began, which saw her and Rihanna star on countless red carpets globally.
