As awards season gets well and truly underway, all eyes are on the Golden Globes – the first big night on the Hollywood calendar - to set the bar for the red-carpet trends this year.

In predictable – but no less wonderful – fashion, 55-year-old Julianne Moore arrived on the arm of her red carpet go-to designer, Tom Ford.

Last night’s offering was a sophisticated, shimmering royal blue gown with a choker neckline. Complimenting her auburn hair and pale complexion, the look required minimal make-up and subtle accessories.

Another actress staying true to her fashion roots was The Danish Girl star, Alicia Vikander.

One of Louis Vuitton’s most prized ambassadors, Vikander wore a stunning white gown crafted by the house’s Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquière.

With a ruffled neckline and sleeves adding a soft femininity to the otherwise simple and structured look, Vikander kept her hair off her face in a sleek up-do while her make-up remained subtle and classic.

Other style hits from the evening came from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley - in an elegant Atelier Versace gown, custom-made with a clinched in waist and delicate straps – and Olivia Palermo, who wore a bold, strapless dress by Delpozo in emerald, coral and white stripes.
