The Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun feud continues to escalate - and now, Sia is involved, with Swifties attacking the singer on social media.
After Sia came out in support of Scooter Braun, Swift fans found a 2011 photo of Sia and are accusing her of 'blackface.' The notoriously private singer is saying that she was simply painted to blend in with the background but Swift fans remain unconvinced.
Sia previously tweeted at Braun to show her support. “You're a good kind man @scooterbraun I hope this passes quickly. I love you keep going,” she wrote on Twitter. Swift had said on Instagram that Scooter Braun acquiring her catalog from 2006 to 2017 was a "worst case scenario" after claiming the entertainment executive had previously teamed up with Kanye West and Justin Bieber to bully her over a lyric in West's music - a longer explanation of the whole feud can be read here.
Swift fans quickly weighed in on the tweet with the picture, voicing their displeasure with the musician and calling to 'cancel' her.
Now, Sia is attempting to defend herself against the accusations, which involve a photo from 2011 resurfacing and showing the artist with black makeup on her face and body.
“For the swift fans trying to make out that I would ever do blackface please see this video. I was painting myself into the backdrop, it was a pre cursor to the wig..." she wrote on Twitter with a video of the performance.
Sia is currently supporting Braun alongside Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber.
Halsey, Cara Delevingne, and Panic at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie have all voiced their support for Swift.
