Deciem founder Brandon Truaxe has announced that the skincare brand "will shut down all operations until further notice" in a bizarre Instagram post.

In a video that was posted to the app on Monday Truaxe speaks to the camera from what appears to be the back of a car, he says: "Hi everyone, I'm Brandon Truaxe, founder of Deciem. This is the final post of Deciem. We will shut down all operations until further notice, which will be about two months," he says, before urging viewers to "please take me seriously."

He goes on to say: "Almost everyone at Deciem has been involved in a major criminal activity which includes financial crimes and much other. You have no idea what a soldier I've been for more than 13 years, I've been made fun of as a porn actor and as a f****** drug dealer and everything for 13 years.

"It's all ending now," he says.

The post was accompanied by a rambling, incoherent caption in which he tags the Instagram handles of President Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg, among others.

Truaxe founded Deciem in 2013 and launched The Ordinary, a game-changing range of affordable skincare products in 2016. He went on to receive investment from Estée Lauder in 2017.

Deciem did not immediately respond to Evening Standard's request for comment.
