Writer is sister of Tory MP Boris

The claims in the Spectator are levelled in an article on the growing use of private tuition by middle-class families in London written by Rachel Johnson, journalist sister of the magazine's editor, Tory MP Boris Johnson.

The Spectator is understood to have been in possession of the story for some weeks but to have held off from publishing it because it did not wish to be intrusive.

However, the magazine decided to do so after Robin Cook levelled his attack on Iain Duncan Smith's choice of Eton for one of his sons during Question Time last week.
