A woman who gained worldwide sympathy after she claimed an unknown attacker threw acid in her face admitted she did it herself.

Vancouver police chief Clifford Cook said Bethany Storro, 28, admitted under questioning that she invented the story about the attack, in which she suffered severe burns.
