Video shows 'Black Watch bomb'

A video claiming to show the suicide bomb attack which killed three Black Watch soldiers has been posted on an Islamic website.

Subtitles declare "the first martyrdom operation against the British forces outside Baghdad" as the footage shows a car being slowly driven down a street and exploding.

The aftermath of the attack last Thursday is on film, with British forces shown massed in the area.

Later a blown-off arm is filmed being kicked around and stamped on.

The film emerged as two more soldiers from the Black Watch were being treated for "serious injuries" to their legs. They were in an armoured Warrior vehicle when it was rammed with a car packed with explosives. The attack came as most of the 850-strong group were involved in a major push towards the city of Iskandariyah in an attempt to cut off rebel supply routes.

The two are in a stable condition in a military hospital in Germany.

  • Families of soldiers in Iraq are to launch an anti-war campaign pressing for the withdrawal of British troops. The campaign is expected to be launched at Westminster on Wednesday and will be modelled on the US network Military Families Speak Out.
