Trains are ready for early rush

Dick Murray12 April 2012

Train companies are expecting a much earlier rush hour tomorrow with commuters aiming to be in London by 7.30am to watch the start of the England/Brazil game.

Connex is increasing the length of trains arriving by 7am to cope with the extra demand. A spokesman said: "When England played Denmark last week there was a 20 to 30 per cent increase in passengers travelling into London before 7am. We expect the same tomorrow."

Connex and South West Trains will be showing goal details on passenger information displays at stations and some drivers and guards are expected to make onboard announcements of the latest score. South Central will keep passengers informed using station loudspeaker systems.
