JAPAN'S top government spokesman said on Wednesday that the authorities would act against sharp moves by the yen. 'The recent rise in the yen is too rapid,' Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda told a news conference. 'It's not good for the Japanese economy.'
