Swiss find boy, 3, who disappeared from hotel

A boy of three who disappeared from a hotel in Britain used by asylum seekers has been found trying to cross into Switzerland.

Police are investigating whether Rossi Matuvovo was being trafficked to Europe from his native Angola.

A police source said: 'That is certainly one line of inquiry that is being investigated, though it is too early at this stage to know what has exactly happened."

Swiss immigration authorities revealed they detained a boy matching his description, along with the two adults he was travelling with, as they tried to enter the country from France yesterday.

Police believe he was taken out of Britain on the Eurostar at the end of August after disappearing from the Thornecliffe Hotel in Hounslow, near Heathrow.

The owners of the hotel, Joginder Sanger and his family, have been paid ?4 million of taxpayers money to house asylum seekers.

Police initially believed Rossi was somewhere within the UK Angolan community.

His disappearance has highlighted concerns over the welfare of children from Africa being brought to Europe, after the death of Victoria Climbié ¡nd the unidentified African boy whose torso was found in the Thames in 2001.
