Streaker tiny but perfectly formed

Metro13 April 2012

No sporting event is complete without a streaker - not even a game of Subbuteo football.

Thomas Taylor decided to spice up the table-top game by producing tiny but anatomically perfect figures which can be used to disrupt play at key moments, such as an open goal.

The 52-year-old and his wife, Sue, run the world's only dedicated Subbuteo shop in the Welsh border town of Knighton.

He said: 'The popularity of the game among youngsters seems to have dropped off since computer games came on the scene. 'We were thinking, "What else can we do?", so we had a mould made.'

The three-quarter-inch male and female streakers are sold with a police officer who chases them across the pitch. About 6,000 sets have been sold worldwide in the past two years.
