Stabbed teenager fights for life after gang brawl

12 April 2012

A teenager was in a critical condition in hospital today after he was stabbed in a fight between rival gangs in east London.

The 18-year-old was attacked near the Eastside Youth Centre in Parnell Road, Bow, last night.

A 17-year-old boy also suffered knife wounds and was in a stable condition today.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said the brawl was between the Bow Bloodshedders and the IOD gang from the Isle of Dogs, adding: "It's a postcode thing. No one saw why it started but there was a big fight with a load of them last night."

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the scene at 9.20 last night. Three men were arrested and were being questioned today.

Officers cordoned off part of the road and were examining a dark-blue Rover car with smashed windows and windscreen.
