R-R bosses on a roll as shares surge

BOSSES at Rolls-Royce have made big gains after buying shares at their low point last year, and have kept on buying.

Outgoing chairman Sir Ralph Robins paid £40,000 for 21,682 shares last week and fellow directors Michael Howse and Colin Green together bought £45,000 worth.

Seven directors, including chief executive John Rose, made big profits by buying £155,000 worth of shares when they fell after 11 September. Chief operating officer John Cheffins spent £15,600 boosting his holding in October. The price has since soared by 50%
