Rapper on shooting charge

Metro13 April 2012

Rapper Lil' Kim faced a series of charges yesterday over a shoot-out three years ago. The 28-year-old was charged with conspiracy to commit perjury, making false statements and obstructing justice.

One man was wounded in the shooting, which involved the rapper's entourage and friends of a rival hip-hopping duo outside a radio station.

Lil' Kim, real name Kimberly Jones, turned herself in at a district court in Manhattan, where she was scheduled to appear later in the day.

Also charged were one of her managers, a bodyguard and a friend. A motive for the shoot-out was not given.

Mel Sachs, for Lil' Kim, of New Jersey, said: 'The charges are baseless and I'm confident the case against her will be dismissed.'
