Producer facing prison for 'gun' threat to clamper

12 April 2012

A rap music producer who pretended to have a gun to make a clamper free his car was facing jail today.

Andrew Baugh, 30, aimed a "gun-shaped" bag at the man and said: "I'm a gang man, quick quick, I don't want to shoot you."

The clamper dialled 999 and armed police arrived in Roman Road in Bow within minutes in April last year. Officers found the weapon was just a tow bar wrapped in a carrier bag, Snaresbrook crown court heard.

Baugh admitted possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Baugh, of Whitechapel, who has a string of convictions including carrying prohibited weapons, was warned he faces prison when he is sentenced on 20 August.
