Police seek hospital rapist

12 April 2012

Scotland Yard today appealed for help to find a man who raped a grandmother dying of cancer in hospital.

Police believe the attack at King's College hospital in south-east London could have been carried out by another patient or hospital worker.

The 71-year-old woman was raped in a lavatory near her mixed-sex ward in the early hours of 1 May. Her attacker is described as white and in his fifties.

The victim has since returned to her home in the South-East where she is believed not to have long to live.
