Playstation2 helps Sony to stormer

STRONG Christmas sales of Sony's PlayStation2 software in the US and Europe, plus big demand for DVD movies, nearly doubled the group's third-quarter profits to a record 125.43bn yen (£657m). Operating income gained 8%, helped by the weaker yen and a 50% surge in shipments of PlayStation2 games.
