Oldman wins custody of sons

13 April 2012

Hardman actor Gary Oldman has won custody of his two young sons.

A court in Los Angeles threw out claims by the British star's ex-wife, Donya Fiorentino, that he was turning one son into a drug addict. Instead, a judge found Oldman to be the better parent and reduced Fiorentino's visiting rights.

The ex-model - herself a recovering addict - said Dracula star Oldman kept five-year-old Gulliver drugged on steroids to avoid having an allergy treated. Fiorentino made the bizarre claim after losing custody of Gulliver and his four-year-old brother Charlie last year when she had an overdose. Oldman, 45, broke off from filming the third Harry Potter movie in London to address the court via a videolink. Fiorentino had to be restrained as the judge handed down the decision. Speaking afterwards, Oldman's lawyer, Gary Fishbein, said: 'I think Gary will be satisfied with this result. He's been vindicated.'
