She is time-poor, cash-rich and would rather have fun than look for a husband. Meet the weekend diva, a fast-living woman from the so-called 'easyJet Set'.

Aged 25 to 35, she thinks nothing of jetting away for the weekend to spend her earnings on herself. No-frills airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair are fuelling the phenomenon, allowing weekend divas to spend about £60 to fly to Barcelona or Paris to eat, drink and shop.

Advertising company Publicis, which identified the new trend, said: 'These professional women are looking for a new sort of fulfilment, one that involves living for today rather than planning ahead.'
