Nisha's husband remanded in custody over her murder

The husband of Special Constable Nisha Patel-Nasri was remanded in custody today charged with her murder.

Fadi Nasri, 33, appeared at West London Magistrates' Court in Hammersmith, and will next appear at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing on 16 March.

Roger Lesley, 37, who faces the same charge, appeared with him and was also remanded in custody to the Old Bailey on the same date.

Nasri, self-employed, of Alderman Court, Barnet, north London, and Lesley, unemployed, of Chesterfield Flats, Bells Hill, Barnet, are the third and fourth people to be charged with the murder of Mrs Patel-Nasri, who was stabbed to death outside her home in Wembley, north west London, last May.

The 29-year-old died after being stabbed in the leg by an attacker outside her home in Sudbury Avenue, on 11 May.

It is still unclear whether she had gone outside in her nightdress that night to investigate a disturbance, or whether she found someone in her house.

The other two men who have been charged with her murder are Tony Emmanuel, 41, of Clements Road, East Ham, east London, and Jason Jones, 35, of Hathaway Crescent, east London.

They are next due at the Old Bailey on 16 March.

Nasri and Lesley spoke only to confirm their names and give dates of birth and, in Nasri's case, address. Lesley declined to give his address, saying it was in the paperwork.

Nasri has short hair and stubble and was wearing a dark sweatshirt and trousers.

Lesley had dreadlocks and studs in his face and wore a blue sweatshirt with the word Harlem on it.

They were flanked by security guards for the 10-minute hearing.

No application for bail was made.
