Muggers stab couple on Tube

12 April 2012

A couple were stabbed and robbed on the Tube by muggers as they returned home from a church service.

Police believe the 58-year-old man was stabbed in the leg when he challenged the two robbers. His wife, 59, was slashed across the arm before the muggers fled with a bag and a purse.

She underwent surgery at Central-Middlesex Hospital and the man was later transferred to Harrow's Northwick Park Hospital for vascular surgery.

The robbers, described as 6ft tall black men in their 20s, ran from the Bakerloo line train at Harlesden station. Witnesses are asked to call 020 7391 5275.
