Ministry pumps up volume for Jazz

12 April 2012

RADIO group Jazz fm is to hand over distribution and sales of its own-label compact discs to James Palumbo's Ministry of Sound. Sales of Jazz fm and Hed Kandi CDs accounted for about £3m or just over half of the group's total sales last year, which are rising. Chief executive Richard Wheatley said that the Ministry nightclub and music group would offer a better margin on sales and it was hoped it would push up volumes.

'Eventually I can see us doing joint record labels and other ventures with the Ministry,' he said. Jazz fm shares rose 9p to 132 1/2p.
