Matalan suspects caught browsing in shop on CCTV

Robbers suspected of murdering a Matalan store manager in Hackney were filmed casually walking around the shop moments before he was killed.

New CCTV images of the gang believed to have stabbed Jamie Simpson in the neck as he cashed up on 22 March will be screened on BBC's Crimewatch tonight.

Police have arrested and questioned six people over Mr Simpson's death but none has been charged.

The 33-year-old from Herne Hill was attacked by a gang of three men but detectives believe a fourth had gone with them to the Kingsland shopping centre.

The footage shows three of the hooded gang walking into the store and taking an escalator to the first floor where Mr Simpson was counting the day's takings.

Immediately after the murder a suspect is shown running through the doors which lead to a car park at the back of the building.

It is thought the four men are aged between 16 and 25.

Detective Inspector Jacqueline Sebire said: "We still, more than ever, need the help of the public in identifying those people."

Members of Mr Simpson's family from Derby, including his mother Lorna Simpson and sisters will appear on the programme.

The six arrested are due to answer bail late next month.
