Joanna Yeates' fund raises £3,000 for missing persons

12 April 2012

The boyfriend of murder victim Joanna Yeates has raised £3,000 in her memory for a missing persons charity.

Greg Reardon, 27, created a page on fundraising website JustGiving for the Missing People charity on New Year's Day.

Mourners have made donations of up to £200 and left scores of tributes to the 25-year-old landscape architect, who was found dead on Christmas Day in Bristol.

Jane Turner donated £10 and said: "I will always remember Jo and the fun we had together xxx."

Another friend, Robert Tanti, gave £25 and posted: "Jo, you were instantly likeable. You will forever live in our memories. Greg you truly are amazing, and we are proud to have you as our friend."

Martin Houghton-Brown, chief executive of Missing People, said: "It is deeply heartening that even at a time of crisis the family and friends of Joanna Yeates, and their supporters, are so selflessly supporting other families affected."

The page, www.justgiving.com/joannayeates, will stay open in Ms Yeates's memory until 2016.

Police are studying CCTV footage from cameras on the Clifton Suspension Bridge to see if her killer's car can be traced.
