JK Rowling stalker deported

A 41-year-old American woman has been deported after appearing in court on charges of stalking Harry Potter author JK Rowling, it emerged today.

Melissa Kumsuk Cho was sent back to the US after it was discovered that she was living in Scotland illegally. Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard how Cho repeatedly telephoned the author, sent letters and went to Rowling's Edinburgh home.

The Immigration Service confirmed today that Cho had been deported.
