Green ‘wacky race' will head from Battersea to Istanbul

Three friends are organising a race from London to Istanbul using carbon-neutral transport.

Race the Green Machines will start at Battersea Park on 24 July. Rowan Gray, 28, from Earlsfield and Edward East, 29, of Tooting, will be travelling the 2,500 miles by bike and James Westropp, 28, of Clapham will go by electric car.

Competitors can enter any vehicle that does not use carbon in transit. For more details go to www.racethegreenmachines.com
