David Beckham Soccer

PlayStation

As our nation's greatest footballer (no arguing at the back), you'd think that if Mr Beckham was to put his name on a football game, it would have to be the dog's. DBS's maker, Rage, has pumped loads of cash in front of the giant jaws of the advertising monster in an attempt to shift product, and must have given Beckham a good few shillings for his name and time.
So what has it come up with? Something to rival FIFA or Pro Evolution? Oh no. This is a sad excuse for a footie game. Remember Three Lions from a few years back? That bad. Don't buy this game on the strength of the name on the box. There'll be tears before bedtime if you do. (NP)

The Powerpuff Girls

Game Boy Advance

The Powerpuff girls are not only famous for their starring roles on the Cartoon Network and Game Boy Color, they are now taking residence on GBA. The sinister Simian has unleashed a horde of vicious 'mobots' in this side-scrolling shooter and it's up to Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup (each playable characters) to leap into action and defeat the nasty army before they overpower the peaceful city of townsville.
This is all set around six levels of game play. But it's not your bog-standard platformer - you have to protect three little lives instead of the just the usual one. Unfortunately I let them all die. Sorry. (HM)
