- Neighbourhood police teams will reclaim parks and shopping centres from gangs of yobs.
- Set a target of 30 per cent of Met police officers from ethnic minorities and 25 per cent women.
- A new crackdown on "hate crime" attacks based on victim's race, religion or sexual orientation.
- Continue the work of specialist public transport police.
- Keep the 1,000 extra officers already deployed to the frontline against terrorism and provide emergency services with "all the resources they need" to protect capital from attack.
