Cowell gets a tongue-lashing

Acid-tongued Simon Cowell got a taste of his own medicine from his mother, Julie, after answering his mobile telephone during a family dinner in Los Angeles.
Mrs Cowell fumed: 'Turn that bloody phone off! I didn't raise a son to talk on the telephone when he's in the company of others!'
When Cowell said he couldn't help people calling him, she replied: 'Don't give excuses. Just turn the damn thing off!'
