China foreign exchange reserves flat

CHINA'S foreign exchange reserves, the world's second-biggest after Japan's, stood at $415.72bn (£226.6bn) at the end of February, unchanged from a month earlier, the central bank said today.

Reserves had risen $12.5bn in January as more speculative funds poured into China amid speculation that the country would allow its fixed-rate currency to rise.
