The moment a tourist fled from an attempted armed robbery in Argentina was captured on his head mounted camera.

Alexander Hennessy, who is attempting to visit every country in the world with a group of friends, was on a cycling tour through a rough neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, wearing a GoPro camera on his head.

In dramatic footage, a man on a motorbike can be seen pulling across a street narrowly missing an oncoming car.

He then continues into the path of Mr Hennessy, who appears to laugh it off.

But the man pursues him before pulling out a handgun, demanding in Spanish: “Give me your backpack!”

Mr Hennessy, clearly shocked and unable to understand the man, frantically repeats “Amigo” in an attempt to ward him off.

But his attempts are ineffective and even after offering his bicycle and trying to run away, Mr Hennessy continues to be harassed by the man.

Eventually, Mr Hennessy regroups with his friends and manages to find a policeman on a nearby street.

Mr Hennessy, panting loudly, then exclaims: “I’ve got that entire thing on my GoPro right now!”

The footage was given to local and police and the man with the gun was arrested the same day.

Despite the terrifying incident, Mr Hennessy and his friends say they will not be deterred from completing their challenge.
