Owned by economist and former Bank of Moscow chief Andrey Borodin, Park Place, near Henley-on-Thames, will be familiar to film fans from the remake of St Trinian’s (2007) starring Gemma Arterton.

Park Place cost £140 million in 2011, then the UK’s most expensive home. A Russian court ordered its seizure last year. Now, its neighbour, Templecombe House, is on the market at a fraction of the price, £7 million, through Savills.

Built of stone and glass to a striking curved design, the 20th-century house has huge picture windows overlooking the 43 acres of gardens and grounds, making the very best of the views.

There are two reception rooms, four bedrooms and an indoor pool. It also comes with a one-bedroom Victorian gate lodge, a hard tennis court and views towards the Thames.
