The Grand Tour presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are reportedly set to cash in a staggering £29 million.

The car-loving trio, who fronted BBC’s Top Gear before launching the new show on Amazon Prime, will allegedly take in the windfall profit as a result of them all being directors of company Chump Holdings Ltd, alongside executive producer Andy Wilman, which they founded in 2015.

Mail Online reports a contract required the company, and Amazon Prime, would need “to start delivering a run of 12 programmes by October 1, 2016”.

After satisfying the contract the company was last month wound up, resulting in an estimated surplus of £28,927,645, after all the remaining debts were paid, according to Companies House records.

The presenters revealed the show would be returning for a fourth series, which will be filmed entirely in-vehicle and on-location rather than in their usual tent. The move means there will no longer be a studio audience.

At the time, Clarkson said: “We have some good news, we’re not stopping. The show as you know it is ending, the audience, the track.

“Although the tent has gone, The Grand Tour goes on. So while it’s not goodbye from us, it is good bye from the tent…anyone want to buy a tent?”

The final episode of the third season also saw Clarkson bid an emotional farewell to his Ford saloon car.

A date for the new season is yet to be announced.
