Choose a selection of your favourite things from original art, handmade prints or even photographs, for an affordable way to transform a room and create a talking point.
Amy Sanders, homes, prints and arts curator at Not On The High Street, offers her top tips on how to create the perfect gallery wall in your home.
1. DECIDE ON THE BEST SPOT
The gallery wall is such a 'wow' feature and can often take a lot of time to get right, therefore ensuring you have the right home for it is key.
Finding an unusual spot which can be 'uncovered', can often be just as 'wow' as being the focal point in the room.
2. PLAY AROUND
Play around with placements and positions before you start hanging. Find a large area of floor space and use this as a fake wall to ensure that you get the right layout.
Do try multiple variations and take pictures of your favourites to remember them.
MAKE IT PERSONAL
Not everything needs to be framed artwork, and so think outside the box a little. Use mirrors, kid's artwork and macrame wall hangings to give your gallery wall a spin.
CONSTANTLY EVOLVE
The beauty of a gallery wall once up is how easily it can be switched back to a blank canvas. It's easy to continue to collect on your travels, and as you go that can be added at a later stage to ensure it is always fresh and exciting.
