Most people sell up their five-bedroom homes in classy St John’s Wood to downsize but Mary McCartney is moving to a bigger house just up the road.

The move required a price drop. The Grade II-listed semi went on the market last month at £4.35million but the asking price, with Milton Stone, is now £3.95 million.

Celebrated photographer and cookery writer Mary, Sir Paul McCartney’s eldest biological daughter, bought the house 12 years ago.

It is where she has raised her four children, who all attended the local schools.

Mary and her film director husband Simon Aboud both work from home, explaining their desire for a bigger place, but they redecorated soon after moving out and all the furniture pictured in the listing belongs to them.
