Shopping and supping can be done with equal enjoyment at Villandry's recently extended food, drink and shopping emporium in the backwaters of darkest Fitzrovia. The bar is fairly unpretentious in appearance with its dark wooden furnishings but the natural light lifts the atmosphere out of depression into a relaxed, canteen-style affair. What is surprising for a bar of this size - it can only hold around 50 people - is the quality of the wine list, which includes decent enough house wines of Domaine Fontaine Marsanne and Domaine du Chapitre (£3.45 and £3 respectively), and a clever collection of traditional and New World offerings.
