South African food and wine show

Marina O'Loughlin10 April 2012

South Africa's finest food and wine is being showcased in Richmond this Saturday. Tents are being pitched in Richmond Athletic Grounds for what promises to be something of an eye-opening foodie adventure.

Chef Pete Gottgens, whose Springbok Cafè (now known as Dumela ) has been plying citizens of Chiswick with the delights of zebra, ostrich, sprinkbok and arcana such as sosaties, heads up the food side of things.

There are five wine tents providing an oenophile's dream: a tasting trek across the wine-producing areas of South Africa.

There will also be live acts from comedians Boet'n Swaer and music from Henry Ate and Sons of Trout.

Tickets cost £20 each with a donation going to the Red Cross Children's Hospital of South Africa. £20 (includes a commemorative wine glass, holder and festival programme), Richmond Athletic Ground, Kew Foot Road, Richmond, TW9, Saturday 6th July 2002, 12 noon - 8 pm, to book tickets visit www.1stcontact.co.uk
