First look: Cielo Blanco — popular northern Mexican comes to the capital

A new Mexican restaurant has landed in Clerkenwell

It’s not unusual for restaurant groups to establish themselves in the capital before spreading their wings and opening branches further afield. Think Hawksmoor in Manchester or Polpo in Brighton.

Cielo Blanco is doing it the other way around. Having made a name for itself in Leeds, the Mexican restaurant is now launching an outpost on Exmouth Market.

The offering is inspired by the founders’ trips to Mexico, and includes tacos, tostadas, flautas and quesadillas along with a big range of mezcals, tequilas and cocktails made with the spirits — plus Mexican craft beer.

Watch our video above for a taste of what to expect at Cielo Blanco, which opened on May 20. Visit cielobalnco.co.uk for more information.
