Best pancakes in London

US staple: pancakes with maple syrup
10 April 2012
If you fancy indulging in a few pancakes but cannot summon the energy to cook them yourself, here are some recommendations...

The Diner, 18 Ganton Street, W1
(020 7287 8962).

One of a mini-chain of decent American diners. The stack of pancakes comes with a choice of melted butter and maple syrup, blueberries, or banana and blueberries. The greedy option is the breakfast waffle with bacon and Swiss cheese.

Chez Lindsay, 11 Hill Rise, Richmond
(020 8948 7473).
An impressive array of buckwheat galettes — egg and ham, scallops and leeks, Roquefort, celery and walnuts.

Café Crèperie, 2 Exhibition Road, SW7 (020 7589 8947). An old-school crèperie that has seen this part of South Ken come up in the world. Friendly service.

Le Café Anglais, 8 Porchester Gardens, W2 (020 7221 1415).
Look on the breakfast menu at Rowley Leigh's charming restaurant for buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup.
