Montezuma Nanny Goat milk chocolate

Orange/Hazelnut is a winner but Butterscotch/ Peanut left us queasy
16 April 2012

What: Montezuma Nanny Goat Orange/Hazelnut milk chocolate, and Butterscotch/ Peanut milk chocolate (both £13.99/500g Monkey Bar)

Where: Montezuma, 51 Brushfield Street  Spitalfields, E1
Taste Assessment: The Orange/Hazelnut is a winner – orange with creamy chocolate (43 per cent cocoa solids) is a tried and tested combo and the sweet hazelnuts add texture. My taste buds weren’t convinced that butterscotch and salted peanut are complementary flavours, though. Each fought for sweet-sour dominance. The effect, in such a rich chocolate, left me feeling slightly queasy.
