Festival season doesn't just mean standing in a muddy field listening to music. There's a festival to suite everyone, from theatre and art lovers to fans of films, food and flowers.

This June, the capital hosts a range of cultural, culinary and community festivals, from the well-known likes of the delicious Taste of London festival and the arty East End Film Festival, to quirkier events such as the Holi Festival of Colours (with lots of colourful powder-throwing), and Greenwich and Docklands International Festival and London International Festival of Theatre, where dance and theatre takes to the streets. In a league of its own is the Southbank Centre's gloriously bizarre Festival of Love (expect lots of 'awws' and mushy stuff), which includes the Big Wedding Weekend, where couples can marry for £1000 at the Royal Festival Hall.
