If you’ve ever wanted to channel your inner Frida Kahlo, now you can at an event dedicated to the Mexican artist herself.

Shoreditch’s Book Club is hosting a Frida Kahlo life drawing party on Saturday 16 June to celebrate Kahlo’s vision, life and legacy.

The unique event will explore Kahlo’s surrealist vision of pain and pleasure and will invite guests to try their hand at life drawing with two real-life models, who will be posing as these differing aspects of her character.

Artistic attendees will be given the chance to recreate some of her most famous self-portraits and paintings using flesh, fruit and skulls.

The event coincides with the opening week of the V&A’s extraordinary Frida Kahlo exhibition, which showcases her personal artefacts and clothing.
