Stroll, dazzle and snap your way to a summer you will never forget. Discover amazing parts of the capital by day and admire London lit up at night, as well as some spectacular sights you’ll want to remember forever — so don’t forget your camera.

The Mayor of London has put together a whole summer of unique, unmissable and once-in-a-lifetime events (and these are in addition to the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games!).

Keep an eye out for more than 80 individually decorated statues of the London 2012 Games mascots Wenlock and Mandeville along six unique walking routes, taking in historical sites you might not have discovered. Green spaces, fun places, bustling markets, amazing architecture and a few hidden gems along the way — these walks will have you falling in love with London all over again. Discover the routes for these family-friendly trails at molpresents.com/stroll and on the London Official City Guide app — don’t forget to take your camera!

London is also dazzling this summer, with seven of our most famous bridges lit up from dusk until dawn in a spectacular display of colour to celebrate the 50 evenings of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Don’t miss the special moment taking place on the hour, every hour, at the Golden Jubilee Footbridges, as well as Waterloo, Blackfriars, Southwark, London, Tower and the Millennium Bridges. The displays will take your breath away.

Even more golden photo opportunities are being presented all over the capital and not to be missed are the Houses of Parliament projections of the key Olympic moments since 1908 — just head down to Albert Embankment outside St Thomas’s hospital to view a show like no other transforming this iconic building every 15 minutes. Durring the Paralympic Games, projections will run from 8pm to midnight.

Other much-loved historical sites are getting fantastic makeovers as they host stunning installations for a very special summer. Tower Bridge is decorated with a giant set of Olympic rings — at 11.5m high and 25m wide, they offer one of the most memorable shots of London’s skyline. Look along the Thames and you might also get to see the famous Rings on the River, which will offer an interactive water experience between now and 13 August.

So, whether you want to explore, be amazed or take some phenomenal photos, don’t miss London as you’ve never seen it before. Make this a summer like no other, snapping the sights along the way to treasure your once-in-a-lifetime memories of 2012.

Don't miss out!
