Honey G was booed as she plugged her debut solo single after performing on The X Factor final.

Viewers branded the aspiring rap artist a “joke” aftershe took to the stage to perform a medley of hits at Wembley Arena.

Host Dermot O’Leary and judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger showed their support by donning glasses emblazoned with the name “Honey G”.

On wrapping up her routine, the North Weezy rapper said: “It felt wicked. I just want to plug my single that’s coming out on the 23rd December called the Honey G show.

“Everyone who’s locked in we’re going to rip it up, tear it up. This is the official Honey G take over.”

The audience could be heard booing while viewers vented their fury at Honey G being allowed to plug her own music.

One viewer tweeted: “Wow!! How offensive to have Honey G perform at the finals. Complete favouritism and an embarrassment to ACTUAL talent #xfactor.”

Another commented: “Why put Honey G on for the final... reached a new low this year X Factor.”

Speaking about their time on the show they said: “It’s been the best experience ever. There has been so much support and love. Let’s hope for the best."

Terry and Aalto will sing for the win on tomorrow night's show in a bid to follow in the footsteps of last year's winner Louisa Johnson.

The Weeknd and Louis Tomlinson also performed on Saturday night's show.

Tomlinson sang his debut solo single, Just Hold On, days after his mother died.

The former One Direction singer received a standing ovation while Simon Cowell praised his “bravery”.
