The Cutkelvins and Lloyd Macey have become the latest hopefuls to leave The X Factor after a tough semi-finals weekend.

Despite earning praise for their performances from the judges, the acts came bottom in the public vote.

Meanwhile Rak-Su, Grace Davies and Kevin Davy White went sailing through to the final, driving off at the end of the episode in personalised coaches.

Both Macey and The Cutkelvins were gracious in defeat, thanking the crew, voters and judges for their support in their exit interviews.

“Just thank you so much to everyone backstage, the crew, the researchers, to the music team, Louis, to you guys, to the judges,” said Macey.

While Shereen Cutkelvin told host Dermot O’Leary: “Thank you everyone, this has been a bless situation. So grateful to have come this far. We’ll see you on the tour.”

Macey’s elimination means Louis Walsh is now the only judge without an act in the competition, as Rak-Su belong to Simon Cowell’s Groups category, Grace Davies to Sharon Osbourne’s Girls and Kevin Davy White to Nicole Scherzinger’s Overs group.

Next week’s episode will see the finalists visit their hometowns before returning to London to perform at the Excel Centre.
