X Factor 2016: Fleur East defends Honey G over fix claims and says Saara Aalto is ‘on fire’

Our columnist said if Honey G was a joke she wouldn't be able to keep up the act for so long

Honey G has survived for another week – and she hasn’t even touched the bottom three yet. People look forward to seeing her and she’s entertaining because you never know what she’s going to do.

Nicole Scherzinger said her ‘flow is getting tighter’ and I agree. She’s taking on all of the criticism and even added in dancing this weekend. The others need to watch their backs!

John Legend was clearly quite shocked by her – he didn’t know what to say. But what more do you need when you’ve got support from Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent?

She has been accused of being a joke act, but you can’t be that way 24/7 it would be so difficult. I've heard from people that know Honey G and they say that is who she is.

Angry: Viewers are not happy that Honey G survived over Relley C

She’s got music videos from ages ago so it would be too tough an act to keep up for that long.

I was also happy that Saara Aalto wasn’t in the bottom three because she never deserved to be there. She was on fire this week. If I was in the competition I would be scared!

I was really upset to see Relley C voted off. She was one of my favourites. In some ways I thought she might have an edge over Four of Diamonds because they joined the competition late – but in some ways it would have been unfair if the girls had left and not been given a chance to show what they’ve got.

The girls have the potential to get to the final, but it was clear that compared to the others they’re not as comfortable. Their vocals are great, but they need to loosen up and get more relaxed.

I wasn’t shocked to see Ryan Lawrie in the bottom three again because the judges weren’t impressed. The competition is so strong and he’s in a category with Matt Terry, who I think is the strongest, so he needs to work really hard and make sure he picks the right song.

I think he’s still finding his identity and he struggled to adapt to the theme which can be hard. If he wants to win he’s got a difficult task ahead.

Gifty Louise has always been on my radar but she did so well this week. She could prove tough competition for Matt. It was nice to see a different side to her. She was stripped down and showed she can do more than people might think. And she had new hair – which I liked, but I do prefer the short look!
